GCSE
UK mathematics, usually taken around age 16. The focus is the working: algebra, number, geometry, and statistics, marked at the step.
The subject that is open
FluentSTEM starts with high-stakes secondary mathematics for families in the UK and Singapore. Your child writes. The page is read. A person joins when the idea will not move.
Exams
Work is mapped to the syllabus in front of them. FluentSTEM is preparation at home. It is not an exam board, and it does not replace a school course.
UK mathematics, usually taken around age 16. The focus is the working: algebra, number, geometry, and statistics, marked at the step.
The international course many UK-curriculum schools use. Same habit: a handwritten page, read for the line that slipped.
Singapore’s national secondary mathematics exam. Parents see which parts of the syllabus are secure, not a single vague score.
Integrated Programme mathematics for students who are not on the O-Level track. Derivations are followed as far as that course goes.
What fluency means here
Children lose math when a small slip is left inside a long line of work, and the only feedback is that the answer was wrong. FluentSTEM stops on the first broken step and treats everything after it as fallout.
They keep the notebook. That is deliberate. Writing a derivation is part of learning it. The screen is where the page is marked, hinted, and, when needed, handed to a person.
A diagram on the page is part of the work. Angle reasons and geometric arguments are read with the algebra, not ignored because they are drawings.
Coming next
The learning system is STEM-wide. The subject you can use is math. Later subjects will share the notebook, the five-minute person, and the parent view. There is no science, technology, or engineering course to start today.
Written explanations, units, and diagrams. The parsing work is being built so a science page can be read the way a math page is read now.
Opens after math is in place. This site will not pretend a computing course exists yet.
Modelling, units, and breaking a problem into steps. It waits on the math foundation.
